Motor mount pic request February 25, 2009, 10:09:37 PM Ford switched mounts halfway through 86 for the 5.0 correct? I was looking at mine today and they just looked different from my buddies 87. Mine aint wore out or anything just more of a curiosity thing than anything else. Thanks. Quote Selected

Motor mount pic request Reply #9 – February 26, 2009, 01:03:14 PM Check these out, I ran into the same problem when I did my engine swap from the 3.8 to the 5.0L. Unfortunately, I did not know about this forum so I made my own SOLID mounts when I could not find any locally. Amazing, there is no in car vibration and the car really feels solid during acceleration. I also had concerns with the stock mounts pulling apart under high load as I planned to drag race the car. We did something similar to my old '86 Cougar, we couldn't find any top brackets, at least not any under a $1,000,000 lol. Quote Selected

Motor mount pic request Reply #12 – February 26, 2009, 11:25:37 PM I did a set out of 1/2'' steel coming right off the engine to regular buy at the store rubber isolator mounts.the correct mount is offset to lower the engine 3/4'' or so. Having flat ones like mine compromise hood clearance that much. Quote Selected
