85 Cougar XR7 Turbo Project?

I'm thinking about doing a twin turbo 302 project for my car, a buddy and I were having a bench racing session and we had this awesome idea for my car. I was thinking I needed something to smoke a former classmates 97 Vette and this is what we came up with. 86 Cougar LS 5.0 block, 2 T04 turbos from my Cougar and another to match when I get a chance, a blow through Holley 4150 and swap out the 7.5" for an 8.8". I know there is more involved but I am doing LOTS of research. Anyone think this is worth doing?

Not planning on leaving it entirely stock it will be modified to handle boost and have better internals for the most part. I was thinking around 10 PSI for a goal but lower may be realistic in the beginning.

Do you guys think this is unwise? I mean I am just curious about what you guys think.

Yeah I've been using Mike's site for alot of my ideas but I've been canvassing the internet, I just wanted to know other's thoughts. I haven't been very successful tho.

get an aftermarket block, or plan on not using boost. I properly boosted engine should hit at least 400hp. You'll be on borrowed time with a stock block, especially if you turn up the boost.

You should be able to do a 351 cheaper and easier then a aftermarket block. You can also stroke them for very cheap. Then it would be pointless to use the smaller turbo's, and you could easily get the same HP without them. I would probably s the whole turbo idea all together. Check out SBFtech.com.

Also, your gonna need a built tranny, unless you don't plan on racing or driving the thing around..

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

This is going to be a budget build so I am not just throwing it together on a stock SO motor. I plan on pulling apart and putting thought into putting it all back together. I don't want to put the time into a turbo motor if people think I need to spend Mucho Dinero and buy an aftermarket block for 6-10psi. I am not doing it without a factory block I'm not loaded (wish I was). I want this to work. Sorry if I sound a little irked, I have been racking my brain studying up making sure I know what I'm doing and I need some negative sides of this but I know its constructive critisism. My rant is over......

Looks to be a single turbo if I'm not mistaken. I've thought about a single possibly a twin turbo probably use two T04 turbos from a 84-85 Turbo Coupe if I can find another. I figure thats a good turbo size.
