Look what I scored yesterday.

95 Cobra motor with 75,231 original miles, and I heard it run. It was pulled by a local member of thelincolnmarkviiclub.org to drop in a 347with AFR heads etc. Got it for 600. :D

Thanks, I've been jonesing for a set of GT-40 heads for months, and these motors are incredibly rare around here. You can, but only if you ask really nice and bring your checkbook. :hick: Otherwise I'm dropping it in the LSC and enjoying the living s*** out of it. :D

That's actually good to know since I'll probably be repainting the valve covers with the rest of the motor. Yeah, I'm gonna give it a good once over, new timing chain, valve cover gaskets, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, water pump, possibly a B cam or a TFS stage 1, and drop it in the LSC.

Listen I know $40 is a lot in Canadian, but I'll have to decline your generous offer until the exchange rate goes up to about 1500%. :D :giggle:

Here's the decal btw: http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=F you have to search for it though. Look under 1995 Cobra engine decal.

The engine should be fun in the LSC. Are you using 19 or 24 lb injectors with it?

Nice find!

The cam which came in the 94/95 Cobra Motors were supposed to be a pretty heathy grind: proported to be a Crane 2031 (214/220,.513/.529",112LSA) w/1.7 rockers (Cobra motors had the GT-40's w/1.7 rockers).

Thanks for the link, there's no reason not to get one of those at 4.95 :giggle:

You know, I hadn't really planned on it, I've heard that 19lb can stand up to 300hp at the crank. Whaddaya think? I have a 255lph pump, do you think an AFPR would do it? I do have a complete brand new MAF for a Cobra, but I dunno about the X3Z cause of the lazy tune, and I'd have to buy injectors also. This motor is gonna be it for quite a while since a Cobra motor has been a dream of mine for years, plus I don't wanna start having to do chassis mods. :hick:

You're right though it'll be a blast in a LSC, I might even get a little SVT badge....or not.

Thanks, they're not bad it has .480 lift with the 1.7 RRs. but I'm wanting something a little more choppy. :D

With my combo (very similar) I'm running 19s with the stock fpr and a 155lph pump. So far I have no lean codes. Well I did get a lean code once but that was when I swapped to a 70mm MAF from the stock one and didn't reset the computer. Haven't had a lean code since then....but I might change to 24s at some point so I have a safety net. If you have access to a 93 Cobra computer, MAF, and 24lb injectors I would run 'em. In reality the 93 Cobra computer isn't *lazy* as most people say. A guy over on SBFtech checked the programming on one and found it be virtually the same as an A9L.
