Interior questions.... November 13, 2008, 02:23:25 PM I just purchased a 85 T-bird and it is in need of a few interior pieces. What years interchange with the 85? I have been told 84 to 86 will and that 87 and 88 are different. Thank you guys for any information you can give me. Quote Selected
Interior questions.... Reply #1 – November 13, 2008, 02:40:24 PM Your safest bet is 1985-86 for parts. Most 1983-84 parts won't interchange and will probably be the wrong color anyway. Some 1987-88 parts can also work, especially on the dash. What color interior do you have? Quote Selected
Interior questions.... Reply #2 – November 13, 2008, 04:14:35 PM Thanks Eric... right now it has the light tan almost a cream colored interior. The guy I bought it from put seat out of a 83 Mustang in it and was painting some of the trim black. I was going to try and find a Bird with a black interior and just change everything out, I will have to start hitting the local j-yards and see what I can find I guess. Quote Selected
Interior questions.... Reply #3 – November 13, 2008, 04:20:38 PM Ah, okay...well, you really won't find a factory black interior in any AeroFox Cougar or T-Bird. The closest was the Raven (very dark charcoal) interior in 1988 Thunderbirds...it's not a deep black but it is pretty close. Everyone that has a black interior now has made it themselves (custom carpeting, headliner and visors; painted panels; recovered seats; etc.). That's really the only way to get what you want. No other cars' parts retrofit easily into yours either. Quote Selected
Interior questions.... Reply #4 – November 13, 2008, 04:34:15 PM I have a friend who has a couple 88's, one is for parts the other is a driver. I had planed on getting a dash from him, both of his are buttstuffog, mine is digital. I guess I will look for the Raven stuff and make the rest myself. Thanks again for the help Eric. Quote Selected
