Anyone drive an F-150?

Just wondered if anyone else drove an F-150 on the forum.  I've got an '01 F-150 4x4 5.4 that I bought when I relieved my T-bird from daily driver duty.  So far its been a pretty good truck...but its no t-bird either :grinno:

I test drove a 04 F150 FX4 before I left country...and I'm considering buting one now....Very Nice.  We also had a brand new F150 that we rented and drove all over Mississippi and Louisiana during our train up prior to leaving. Both were very nice, but i liked the FX4 better.  I'll either get that, or if I can find one, A 2004 Saleen Focus N2O....LOL Either way the wife will kill me LOL

My brother's got an '00 F150 4X4 with a 4" lift. He loves it, but it doesn't have a lot of power (4.2 V6). I've driven it several times and it's way, WAY better than my Dakota (88 4X4 V6). I even like it better than my father's '01 Ram 1500 4X4 (360) because of its better on-road ride, but there's no doubt the Ram has a stronger front suspension...

My work truck is a 99 F250 PSD.  Great truck, although feels much "bigger and bulkier" on the road that the F150.
For the last six months I've worked in the maitenence shop of a company with about 25 pickups (mostly 3/4 and 1 tons), four tractors, and numerous trailers.  The fords and dodges have about similar reliablity followed distantly by the GM products, at least in our fleet.  I personally prefer the fords, but what else would you expect from a ford person?

I absolutly love the new 5.4L engine, tonnes of low end pull makes it very good for towing (for a gasser).  Actually its not totally new but they advertise it that way.  The new F150's look really good to.  Expecially when parked beside a new dodge!

I used to have an 86 and my dad just traded off his 81.  Both were extremely rusty.

I've had a lot of F-150s and they were all great trucks, but never a brand new one, the newest one I've had was a '98 Eddie Bauer 3 door and it was extrememly comfortable.

Several people in my family have Super Duties for farming, construction, etc and they are absolute monsters.  The Powerstroke is an awesome powerplant for that type of thing.  My brother in law has an '04 with chip, exhaust, and K&N intake and it will do some serious burnouts!

Our farm truck is a '78 f-250.  I don't think you can kill that era truck, the body might rot but the rest is well built.  Ours has been through everything and was used on the farm since new and is still used every day.  It's a true testament to how tough Ford can build a truck.

I just got my 97 F150 last year.  I love it, its got the 4.6l V8 that couldnt even spin the tires at the time I bought it.  It responds well to all the little modifications so now its much better,, We raced a friend with a dodge dakota with a modified 318 and he lost BAD! He didnt talk to us for a few days after that one :)

It tows my cougar around just fine but the other day we had to tow that dakota home and I have to say I was a little dissapointed. Nothing a supercharger cant fix!
