Hey all

I havent been aroundhere much lately, thought I would give a little update for those that know me. I've been bracket racing my 2.3 Capri all summer for points, been doing okay, going rounds, hanging in the top 5 all season (3rd right now).

I really havent done a lot to "make more power" this year, it's all mostly been aimed at getting the chassis stuff sorted and ready for the next round of power. The car is stil la stock shortblock / stock T3 combo with my big valve head, ported E6, and I did add one of BoPorts 1.5 cams. Car is basically running 12.50's-12.60's, slow down to a low 12.70 in terrbile heat, picks up to high 12.40's in decent air. I cut the boost back a bit this year to 23 psi, and will tay there until we get into some good fall air and points end.

The big change for me recently was installing a Baseline Suspension set-up, changing over to Hoosier Quick Time Pro tires (dot), and went to a 4.10 gear. So enough of the words, on to some pictures :D

These pics are video captures from video's taken with a digi cam, so the qulaity is a little weak.........

Required burn out picture from earlier in the season (before QTP's)

I'm pretty happy with the car for what it is :D

Friday night is what they call "bad boys / bad girls". It's kind of a glorifed test and tune, but they have a band and a bikini contest, start late and run a little later.

Saturday is a show, they have supercharged warriors and door jams, $20.00 to get in, but you can RACE in trophy class for the same amount.

I hope to see you down here again, maybe we can get Frank out to race too!

I hope all goes well, cause I want to run my car soooo badly. I need to clean up and re assemble the inside, throw the subframes in, put new gears in it, get it tuned up and running strong, and the 4 speed in. I think ill blow the t-5 if i race it. But if it comes to it I freaking will. Im dieing to see what its able to do.

The cam is interesting.

Off boost, on the street, it GREAT. pulls like mad, builds boost fast, is simply a hoot to drive. All good, love it ovver the Ranger Roller, and I was pretty devoted to that cam. It was all gains, no negatives except it'sjust a wisker softer down low.

Now, I didnt pick up anything with it, either ET or MPH at the track. In the cams defense, it surely is running into my maxed out stock turbine. To put that in perspective, I went from a stoc cast T3 outles elbow to a full on ATR 3" outlet (after the cam swap) and picked up exactly nothing there too. Basically both SHOULD have shown SOME improvment, and neither did. Like I said, it's the turbone being maxed out.

That said, I would still do the swap again, the off boost, partial boost kick is fun as heck. It's just at the track where I'm at full boost for the entire pass there is a choke in the way. I think with a milder combo, less boost, or someone with a bigger turboone, it would be KILLER. We wil lsee, I dont think a new turbo is in the budget this summer, but over the winter we go bigger :D

Sweet :D

You get props twice:
1. You have a Capri :D
2. You didn't stick a Mustang front end on it:D
