anybody got 17x8s? April 26, 2005, 01:58:36 PM whos got 17x8" wheels and what size tires you got? how about what axle you got. my axle is out of my car now, and i got a set of 17x8 98? mustang wheels for it, and i need to know if the 275/40-17 bfg DRs will fit. im pretty sure they will, because the section width of the same size on a 15" wheel is 12" and these are 11" and people have em rite? just want to make sure before i get em, but i kinda cant measure without the axle in the car lol. That is the smallest width tire that will fit on the rim and is also recommended for an 8" wide rim. These are on a 1988 Turbo Coupe rear, converted to 5-lug. I'm pretty sure you'll be alright with that size tire on an 8" wide rim. Quote Selected

Reply #2 – April 26, 2005, 02:11:54 PM That's about as big as you want to go on the 8" wide wheel.With the TBird/94-98 Mustang width rear axle you should have no issues fitting that tire back there.I've currently got 255's on the 95 Cobra wheels I've got...and have more than enough room...
