Valve covers for 85 t-bird

I have a 85 t-bird stock 5.0 efi, and im trying to find a set of valve covers for it, my drivers side was warped which caused it to leak badly...and i had it bent back, but i dont kno how long it will last this time. So I was curious if anyone knew of any aftermarket  covers that would fit?

There are a lot of different kinds of aftermarket valve covers that will fit the motor. It pretty much depends on how much money you want to spend and what you want. You can use valve covers for carbureted cars, but you will need to use a spacer between the upper and lower intake manifold. Assuming that you want to stick with the efi style valve covers, Ford has covers that are stamped "mustang" "ford racing" and "cobra" all polished aluminum or satin finishes. BBK offers chrome valve covers for efi cars as well but I am unsure of the cost. I'm sure there are some more out there, but I just went with the ford efi valve covers.

Of course if you wanted to save money, you could go to the junkyard and get a set off any 5.0 efi car, clean them, paint them, polish, or whatever you want to do with them. This all depends on your personal preferences.

Thanks, i appreciate the advice. Most of the ones i have seen are for 86' and up tho...or is there really much of a difference in terms of valve covers between the years?

I did however come across ford motorsport covers for mustangs from 79-85...and i would assume those would be an almost if not perfect fit? or at least i think anyway.

Do you have EFI, of CFI? If it's CFI, I have a set of chrome valve covers that I had bought for my '84 5.0, but never used 'em.

If your interested, I'm sellin em for $40+ s/h
They're Trans-Dapt #9845 The 302 is stamped into the cover for the raised letter look. Let me know if your interested.

Repairing a lock cylinder that is frozen or sans keys requires a drill, gumption, and a midget on a tricycle.

Forgot to put on intake hose when starting the car, sucked neighbors cat into intake.

I have a couple sets of stock 5.0 efI stamped covers with the oil fill in the correct spot I,ll sell you a set for $15 + actual shipping.  I also have chrome ones which work ok but you have to put oil in the other side front and use a breather cap.  there is no spout to hook the vent hose to.  I'll sell you a set of like new chrome ones with 302 logo for $15+ actual shipping cost(no handling).

I can post a pic of the stock ones tomarrow but they are just plain stamped ford covers off an 88 Tbird 5.0 sefi.  The chrome ones are exactly the same as the ones in the picture posted earlier in this thread  that have "302" stamped in them.  I had them on my car for a week but found some nice cast aluminum ford motorsport ones so I swapped them.

ok, thanks. so im guessing theres not much difference in the valve covers (year wise) for the efi based cars then (probably sounded dumb...but i've only had my 85' 5.0 and no other car, lol)

I have those same ones :p I got some really low profile caps for em, and I'll see if an intake spacer will give enough room for them, they look too good to not use  :D
