kink in plastic fuel line

Has anyone ever repaired the plastic fuel lines that hookup at the fenderwell and get connected to the fuel lines going to the fuel rails on an 88 XR-7?

I believe the auto parts stores sell a repair kit...

The Lincoln lines are about 3" to long. I used the return line from a LSC on my TC. First I split the plastic and removed the fitting, then cut it to the proper length. With the fitting greased and the line  warmed in hot water, I just pushed the line back onto the fitting.. Been over five years... no problem..

whats the repair kit like?  I wonder if I can just cut the line after the kink, remove bad line at the fitting and just shorten it up a couple inches?
TurboCoupe50, How did you warm the line, just a pan of hot water, is the plastic line easy to work with?
Thanks for the help guys
