Anyone have Hookers? June 10, 2008, 11:22:26 AM I have to replace the exhaust real soon. I had to sawzall the old one out to get the engine out, but it was in the plans anyway. I'm looking to keep it on the cheap side. This is the set up I'm looking at:Hooker Exhaust kitMangnaflow lersI've heard good things about them both. If money allowed, I'd go Mangnaflow all the way, cause it would last longer, but its too much. Anyone see any problems with this set up? I plan on doing this at home and just clamping it together. Anyone have Hookers? Reply #2 – June 10, 2008, 03:41:58 PM I have the Hooker system, been on the car since '01, pipes still almost like new(then it's never seen salt and only a few times in the rain)... The intermediate pipes are long enough that they will probably need to be shortened slightly(did with my Flow Master Delta Series)... Issues I had were, hangers on H pipe were sort of misaligned(was using a new Stang hanger, so it should have fit )... I finally got tired of the things and sawed them off, pipes now rest on the crossover brace the Turbo Coupes use for the parking brake cable(it's wrapped with header wrap)... You'll have to rig your own hangers but that ain't a big deal... Only big clearance issue was by the passenger side gas tank strap bolt down bracket, A few whacks with a 4lb hand maul fixed that... If you have a factory floor shift, the pipe will probably rub the cable mounting bracket on transmission... On mine, I cut off the lower ear and now it gets additional retention from a small hose clamp, which keeps it from pulling through the bracket... Quote Selected
