finally done... at least till the next upgrade... lol... July 03, 2009, 07:55:53 PM well I think the project thundercoug is done... I decided to name the car Griffen. instead of keeping the project name...anyhow.... I have put 18k on it and it has proven to be very reliable runs fantastic and has yet to miss a beat.... I am very suprized that the 100 dollar junk yard short block that I bought to use for build purposes only is holding up so well... I planed on having a built engine in there by now but so far no need. so far it has made it to several bbq's and many cruises and 2 to rock falls raceway. it made 409whp on a mustang dyno at 5200 rpms and pulled a 12.2 at 118 at the rock. I am seeing about 17-20 mpg when driving normal and up around 24-26 on cruises.for anyone that is unfamiliar with the car. here is some of the build as well as the pics....http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c180/budderigs/griffin/http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=21841here are the 2 newest pictures.the turbos are going to be on a back burner for a while I am having way to much fun just driving the car right now... I sold the tweecer and I am toying with the moates burnone... its not as nice as the tweecer.... but it was 200 bucks less... everything else is right though..sorry the c4 blew before it ever saw the dyno... so I dont know the number through the auto...my 60 foot was a 1.8. she gets out of the hole quick with the dr's but it could be better yet... I havnt had it on the scale but I would guess 3400... maybe a little less... a friend of mine has a mustang with similer power and he runs just a bit quicker...(12.14) at 3200# so basic math if driver skill is the same would put me at 34... I think... Quote Selected

I gave my boss a ride home the other day and he put his hand right on the middle of it for some reason, and it broke right in half.... im going to try and plastic weld this one but I have my doutes it will ever look right again... and I would like to have it mint for car craft.... I am going to put it on the dyno again next week to see how much it dropped should be interesting...my af now is at 11to1 at wide open. and timing is 28 degrees wide open full boost... these numbers are rough at best.... sence it changes alot on the road... with differing temps and humidity... Reply #11 – July 04, 2009, 09:28:32 PM 34deg is way to high with boost,24ish would be maximum with 94 octane. You would have to have been running 110 race fuel to be running that kind of timing and keep from blowing the headgaskets from detination. The 60deg temps would definetley have helped with the detination but 34, even 28 sounds high.Did you set the program timing or did someone set the program for you???I run around 19-21deg at full boost with 94 octane and that's about the limit unless i went with race fuel.11-1 is safe, you can up it to 11.5 to get a little more power,12-1 is on the edge. What head gaskets do you run.I've got a small leak in one and am going to go cometics when money permits. That really sucks about the heads, shouldn't the company who ported them fix them????I do have 2 more lbs of boost than you but that really does not make too much difference on top end timing. Reply #12 – July 05, 2009, 01:51:26 AM to be honest I am trying to blow the engine up.... it wasnt supposed to run this long.... the 347 is built and sitting on the floor ready to go in. but this darn 302 wont die... it does have really low compression with the dish pistons that are in it which helps alot... I am running 91 for fuel... I have been do all the tuning. I did pay a tuner to do the base tune on the dyno and I have just been toying with it sence.... Quote Selected
