Rear ABS cable May 05, 2008, 09:16:03 PM Okay, so when I had my car pulled out of the ditch, I destroyed my left rear ABS cable, its broke off flush with that backing plate or whatever it goes into. Does that mean I have to replace the sensor? My spare TC rear thats going into the fairmont has them but the cables are cut a few inches out or so. Do the cables unplug from the sensor, so I can just put the sensor from the spare rear end on my car and get a new cable and plug it in? Or is the whole cable attached to the sensor, so I would have to find a whole sensor and cable? Quote Selected
Rear ABS cable Reply #1 – May 05, 2008, 11:34:48 PM I believe the connector for the sensors is under the trunk mat...The cable is made on to the sensor, if it's broken off flush it's s... Dunno for sure but you may be able to splice the cut cable one to the cable from the old one... Can't remember for sure but I believe the cable has a grounded shield that should be connected at the sensor... Quote Selected
Rear ABS cable Reply #2 – May 05, 2008, 11:48:42 PM Yeah, I know about the trunk connector, I already got the cable out. Just wanted to know if the cable and sensor are all one piece or not. But it looks like you answered that.So its basically coax cable? Thats gonna be kinda hard to splice together...How do you get the sensor off? There was a little 12 point bolt or something just below it but I took it off and couldnt budge the sensor. Ill have to get the wheel off for a better look but I cant do it right now. Quote Selected
