Things to do list on the 20th

I pulled this info from my original thread when I bought this 20th.  Lets see how much progress Ive made on the punch list of defects.

-------------------------------------------------------
Coolant was one gallon low. Small puddle atop water pump. ran very cool on the way home. dont know if i lost any cause its late right now. slight leak / drips but ill see more in the am.
solved, found TB coolant line was loose.
Today I repaired the POS gasket put on the tstat housing and its drip proof now. ALSO FOUND OUT A TRICK TO GET TO THE LOWER TSTAT HOUSING BOLT.

Gas tank neck is stuffed way way inside the fender making it hard to add gas.  looks like someone was in the tank before me.
Solved. pulled gas fill neck back up to where its suppose to be

Cruise control inop, i guess ill have to figure that out.
solved,, installed cruies cable clip at servo in driver fender well.

power door lock on driver side intermittant, no biggie
Solved, Solenoid fried, but will work when i get a new one.

power seat driver intermittant, no biggie
Solved, swapped in a spare switch.  tossed the old one up in the pile o parts (marked it properly with defect)

some bulbs must be out on the dash, no biggie
Solved, replaced blown bulbs

EQ power button wont stay in, toothpick still jammed to hold it.
Solved,, pn#wendy's platic fork piece part fixed it.

Instrument cluster dimmmer wheel has a bad spot, entire dash goes black if thumbwheel is placed in the max position. This is rather intermittant as well and no biggie
solved, took apart and fiddled with it, dirty contact.

A strange vac leak can be heard when i decel. I step on the gas and the slight hissing goes away. I step on the gas, hear a slight click and the hissing is gone. Not sure if this is good, bad or indifferent but it may be associated to cruise because it sounds like it comes from the driver kick panel area.
Solved, replaced vac dump valve, no hiss anymore.

AC- with no hvac on at all, nothing is on,,, the air conditioning clutch will cycle on and off. This seems odd to me so since its cool out right now, i just unhooked the presure switch connnector up near the heater core.
Solved,, AC serviced.

Squeek on driver strut or perhaps a bushing needs some lube
Solved,, ball joints and the sumbeyoching control arm bushings.

missing the 20th badge that goes on the dash, perhaps thats in the car or glove box.
Solved,, recent purchase covered that plus a whole lot more.

radiator supports need some tweeking but no biggie. for some reason the radiator doesnt look right,, like not the perfectly exact one for the car but it fits fine.
Solved,, tweeked them around to suit me.

a slight rattle in the front end like its an inner tie rod perhaps,,
Solved, replaced rack.

HO conversion done , still SD.
solved,,,Upper intake installed by PO.  would like to have the HO cover for the upper but that neither here nor there.

Brand spanking new AOD transmission.
I hightly doubt this now but it is what it is. Solved, adjusted TV cable and it passes my long term test.  PO in the cars log book shows a new trans going in it at about 140k miles.  I got the car with 176k

New tune up parts to include all you would expect.
Solved. tune up complete

fresh oil with wix filter
Solved,, its had three or 4 changes since i bought it.

Under carrage is awsome
Yep,, still is.

a couple very very odd outward dings and one small area on the rear driver quarter above tail light that has paint chipped off. Recent damage i think cause there is no pitting , just surface corrosion.
Oddest dings but it is what it is.  I wont do anything soon about this until i paint in the distant future.

smog pump is still on
Solved,,, short belted the motor.

So what size belt did you use to bypass the smog pump? I changed the intake manifold on mine three weeks ago but I still haven't gotten a short belt to dump the stupid smog pump. Seems that would be an easier project :hick:
88 Thunderbird LX: 306, Edelbrock Performer heads, Comp 266HR cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, bunch of other stuff.
