What do you think?

Should there be name tags available for Cat Jam?

I know that I don't know who everyone is. Sometimes I'm not sure of screen names, or first names. I was just wondering what everyone thought of having name tags for Friday night and for Saturday at the park for the picnic to alleviate some of the confusion/awkwardness people can feel when having to remember who everyone is??

LOL, I know that....but, it is kind of weird walking up to someone to talk to them and having no idea who they are.

I'm just trying to help make things easier on others, if they want it that way...if not, no biggy. ;)

BTW, isn't it your 20th reunion this year?? LOL

I already had my 20th reunion, last fall on Thanksgiving weekend. We not only had name tags, but our yearbook photo was also on the tag. THAT was pure joy. :yuck:

BAHAAHAAHA!!!!!

So glad I went to a private school (not) that had only 40 kids, Kindergarten to 12th grade... there were only 3 of us that graduated that year. LOL

NO REUNIONS!!

LOL --even with name tags, I probably still won't remember who they are. I'm so bad with names, it took about 6 months to remember my wife's name when we were dating.

This took too much time to find, but this is pulled from the Pre-Cat Jam '06 posts where I had once asked this exact question. I got the impression then that it was a 50/50 thing.

The first thing i'm thinking of is possibly making up name tags for people. Something along the lines of a persons real name with their forum (user) name below it. I think it would help alot with the akwardness of newbies meeting veterans (and I speak from personal experience on that one).

Name tags...well...it's a good idea. CJ is getting rather large. However, I don't want to look like a bigger nerd than I already am. ;)

I think the cars are about as good a name tag as we need...

OH BOY, I WANT name tags. :nono:
:flame:
Sorry, but I just had to do that. I'm already nervous in crowds anyway.......please, I don't want a sign on me too.

Also, I'm totally cool with name tags. I plan to stay far, far away from my Cougar because she has attitude.

So what names would you put on the tags?
screen names or real names?
or both

you should get the laminated tags that we had for backstage access. tag on a rope you could put a Catjam 08 logo on the back.

That's too much money to put into something people are going to throw away.
I was thinking more along the lines of something that would be printed off the computer and people can put their names on it themselves....nothing too elaborate.

I am just putting a feeler out there, it's no big deal either way. I just know what it's like to not know who people are and I am not one to go up to someone and ask their name and start talking unless they introduce themselves first. If I knew someone's name, I would feel differently about it. I thought possibly there were others who felt that way too, if not, no big deal.

who says they'll throw them away. It would be a good way to remember the event. eventually a shirt will wear out. (if worn)
I would hang mine on my r.view mirror.
It could all still be done on computer.
Not trying to be difficult about it. I tend to over do things, even if they're simple ideas

NO name tags...  This isnt a geeky class reunion, it is a car show....  do they do name tags at carlise or cruise-ins?  if so I will never go.

you wanna know someones name?  get your ass (no Im not centering you out Karen, "your" is meant as everybody that is wondering who someones name is) over there and introduce your self like a normal person would when meeting a stranger on the street, (which is what 90% of us are to each other).

Hell I wouldn't know half the people on here if I tripped over them this year...  Doesn't bother me...  as was said, if I want to know someones name, I will go and ask them, likewise if someone wants to know who I am, I would expect the same.  There are only about 10 people I can remember and will probably recognize this year.

If you are not one to go up and ask someones name, then I guess you didnt want to know them that bad...

Ah yes how I know this.  The two times I've been to CJ the only time I've ever talked to you is when you were yelling at me and Shawn at the Chilli's show.

Names tags..  nay.

Um, ok, this I do not remember... what did I yell at you for?
I usually am on a walk to get chocolates at the Chili's show! lol

I must say that Shawn and I harass the shiznit out of each other....so with him, its a normal thing. ;)

I'm ok either way on this also. If they are there, I'll wear one, if not, well, I won't. :-)

But if we do have them, I think they should include both screen name and real name, so people can put a face/name to the names they know online.

I think I'll just call everyone "DUDE" all weekend. Seems like a lot of work learning 50 names or so for a day and a half.
I could probably already pick out 10 or so people just from the show me your mug post. Even if I didn't know there real name, It wouldn't matter to me and probably most others. we still kinda know who they are.
