My 88 Cougar XR7 *pics*

Finally, is some py cameraphone pics of my 88 Cougar XR7! I was at my Uncle's today after work and was able to grab some shots. I'll be going back next week with a real camera, don't worry. I don't get my license for another month, so it's sitting safely in his garage. So far today, we replaced the drivers side seatbelt, cleaned out the interior, and got new BFGoodriches put on (235s in the front, and 255s in the back! :D ) The rear window as of this past week was redone after a leak was found, new brakes and pads were put on all around, it was just painted last year, and just recently clear coated again and detailed. Also, a new 130 amp alternator and new Ford lers put on. The trunk is clean, the back seats have never been used and the whole car is pretty much immaculate (immaculant?). The engine bay is also surprisingly clean! So without further delay, some pics!

These pics are horrible, I know. The car is WAYY better looking than the pics show, and the engine is much cleaner than in the photos. (Esp. after I've cleaned the hell out of it!) All this for $0... I love my uncle... great guy!

I have never seen a solid black interior on an XR7...or a Turbo Coupe for that matter.  Were the gray bits dyed black or something?

Hey Glad to see someone close to my age fixing up these cars...

First off, from the pics looks like you got yourself one hell of a car. TAKE CARE OF IT. Dont allow anyone else to "test drive it" or lean against it. (that is how i am)

Anyways, I started working 2 days after I turned 15. I worked for about a 3/4 year and saved every cent of it. I purchased my first cougar 88 cougar ls 3.8l. Sorry Im going to hijack this for one sec, but it's good for the creator of this thread.
My timeline from being 15 (like you) to being 19 now.

Pics = day 1 back in May 02. I was 15, bought the car 4 months before i could get my permit. So it gave me time to buy wheels and PUT NEONS UNDER IT (fast and the furious just came out this year).
Pic 2= About 2 years later 04. I was 17 years old now. Car had chrome wheels, neon lighting, bra, and the best sound system in the area. That's about it. I went partially deaf and had to get medical help to correct my hearing since then. Ha, but it's good now.
Pic 3= Bought this car on ebay. Now It's 04 I'm 17 turning 18 soon. Purchased my 88 LS 5.0 cougar. Had to do lots and lots to this car.
Pic 4= My car at CJ 05 July. Car has soo much stuff done in one year its rediculous. I worked hard and spent lots on her.

You will go through these feelings of, "Man why am I putting money into this old car that no one knows about or sees anymore" Believe me, dont fall for what your friends say. It's now the case whenever we have a town cruise with the 20-30 other cars, I'm the one that leads the pack into other towns. Hmm I wonder why.  Stick it there man and give it your all. You got a car has all the potential of being one bad ass cougar. I wish my cougar had your interior then I would be in heaven. Good luck with all you do and if you ever got a question feel free to hit me up.

Hey, how did you black out the headlights? Is that like a lense you bought or did you have it custom fabed?
