Wont Take Gas...

Sounds good at first at 3.10 a gallon but its not fun

Everytime i go to put gas in my car it will take about $1.50 then stop. then it will take around .05-20 cents at a time (take a long ass time to even put in $5) depending on the station, price, and god knows what else.

when i pull the nozzle back you can see the gas that was backed up go in the little hole around the flap. We have the stupid pollution tip things on our pumps.

Anyonbe else have this problem before

Sounds like your tank vent is stopped up. It's not letting the air out so the gas can get in.
I think these cars vent through the carbon canister. Not sure though.

were would this be?

The only vent thing i know of it a hose that runs to back of the car and dumps infront of the bumper

A hose runs from the fuel tank to the metal rectangular box that sits under the air cleaner box, then to the upper intake.

Flip the gas nozzle upside down upon fillup in the meantime.  It should help some until you fix the problem properly...

my van does the same thing if the gas pump is to fast.
I have to fill it slow or flip it sideways. don't know why sideways works. either way, I feel your pain. 38 gallons is a long wait at a slow pump speed, and it only seems to do it when it's 20 or below.

It has something to do with how the gas comes out of the nozzle itself I think.  I do it all the time now.  No matter what vehicle I'm filling.

how do i fix the problem though?

And the only thing that worries me about that is the pump not stopping and the gas flowing back down the side of my car.
