new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #2 – March 31, 2008, 03:23:41 PM Better to hit up TCCOA.comThis is more of a Fox chassis site...which the MN-12 is not. Quote Selected
new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #3 – April 01, 2008, 09:19:11 AM The engine and auto trans is the same and that's about it. I don't think you can even get a t56 in one without alot of tunnel banging. Its platform is similar enough with the Mark VIII where suspension parts are interchangeable. Quote Selected
new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #4 – April 01, 2008, 09:56:35 AM as long as the drivetrain is interchangable that will make it easier to find parts . I went to super coupe performance lat night it was good lot of parts , are there any other places that sell suspension parts for these cars ? and what kind of gas mileage do they get ? Quote Selected

new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #8 – April 01, 2008, 11:11:29 AM I own 4 Mark VIIIs and a '93 T'Bird. My advice is if you want to use Mustang parts, get a Mustang or stick with the 80-88 Cougars you see around here. Some of the Mustang stuff can be used on an MN12 Cougar but you'll find it's a lot of work to get where you want to go... ie a hub swap required just to use the 5x4.5 bolt pattern of Mustang wheels. They really are very different from the Fox chassis cars which the Mustang still is even up until 2004ish.At least spend some time reading and searching at tccoa.com as suggested. Quote Selected
new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #9 – April 01, 2008, 08:51:49 PM ive been checking tccoa.com and its a great site , and so far what iam getting is that these cars arent at all similar to the fox body mustang . the drive train on the 4.6 liter mustangs is the same as in the mn12 cougar . new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #10 – April 01, 2008, 09:21:14 PM The only things you can use are a few engine items, and a few internal trans items. The Mustang GT torque converter and flywheel is a good upgrade because of the smaller diameter. The shifter you want to use is not adaptable, at least, if you want it to look good. The cars are way too different to be trying to use Mustang stuff. Quote Selected
new to the mn-12 cougar i need so much help Reply #11 – April 03, 2008, 05:50:44 PM theres not alot in common with mn12 and fox cars. i think the only thing u could swap would be ........ well the motor or trans (auto) and the rearend gear ratio. Quote Selected
