BOV question January 18, 2008, 12:22:14 PM I put a BOV on my tc last week. When its hooked up and open at idle, I jacks with my vacume and the car wont idle. I know that there are guys running BOV's out there, how are you making it work? if I plumb it back in to the air tube before the turbo will that help? thanks. Quote Selected
BOV question Reply #1 – January 18, 2008, 05:24:51 PM What type of BOV are you running, and what type of motor do you have? If you have a VAM you need to run the type of valve with dual springs and dual diaphragms and is closed during idle. Quote Selected
BOV question Reply #2 – January 18, 2008, 05:54:21 PM its a talon bov, on an 88 turbo coupe. sounds like it my have been a waist of time and money.:( Quote Selected
BOV question Reply #3 – January 18, 2008, 06:14:40 PM Sorry BOV is the boost valve correct? I am learning the hole lingo. So I disconnected the knock sensor and the hesitation went away. Do I need to be careful for anything after I disconnect the sensor. The Boost valve that I ran, I started at the vacum t-line and through before the turbo. I havent had any issue's the this boost valve Quote Selected
BOV question Reply #4 – January 18, 2008, 06:52:19 PM BOV = blow off valvedifferent than boost valve/controller.as far as the talon piece goes, some people have run them with success by crushing the top to keep it from opening at idle. Quote Selected
BOV question Reply #5 – January 18, 2008, 07:11:47 PM Crushing the top increases spring pressure. Those valves are designed to be routed back to the intake, between the turbo and VAM on these cars. They work very well when run this way.I run an HKS SSQV, pricey, but works great. Quote Selected
