We could just go by the month and year on the tag :hick:
 
Actually that would make mine rather young, built in April of '87.
1987 20th Anniversary Cougar, 302 "5.0" GT-40 heads (F3ZE '93 Cobra) and TMoss Ported H.O. intake, H.O. camshaft
2.5" Duals, no cats, Flowmaster 40s, Richmond 3.73s w/ Trac-Lok, maxed out Baumann shift kit, 3000 RPM Dirty Dog non-lock TC
Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...

I've never seen a December 1986-produced 20th. They didn't go on sale to the public until Feb. 26th, 1987, so production had to have commenced shortly before that. Come to think of it, the NYAS 20ths should have been the first off the line, and I think those were Feb. 1987 cars.

Right I remember you or someone else saying they weren't available late the year before like most new models.
 
What shocked me was the new info on your site which shows that, inflation adjusted, a 20th cat was just shy of $34k!!!! Haha look how much of a bargain they are now :hick: :giggle:

Just checked mine - the date on the door tag says 03/87 - so March 1987. I wonder if they were all produced within a short period of time?

My tag broke off long ago, too. I tried to save it, by putting it in one of the garage cabinets. It seems to have gotten tossed out somehwere along the way, though.

My door tag says that Roxanne was born in April '87. (She came home from the adoption agency on May 20, 1987.)
