'85 Thunderbird Fila 5.0

I just bought an '85 Thunderbird with a 5.0 engine.  The badge on the air cleaner says that it is a 5.0 H.O.  Did Ford put high output engines into their T-birds that year?

Neeeewwwpe. Only the dear dear Mustang got any pep. Someone must have swapped on that air cleaner lid. Unless they did an HO motor swap, or swapped on the parts to bring it to that spec. Cant really know without knowing the history of the car :hick:

Aside from the Mustang crinkle headers, still looks like it's only 150 HP...

No.They didn't put an H.O in any of the Fox Birds.Check the firing order.If it's wired like a 351W,that can tell you it's probably an H.O,If it's wired like a standard 5.0,not an H.O.Show some pics.Good car to start with.

Packard was made by the Packard Motor Car Company...from 1899 to 1957.  At one time they were considered better than a Rolls Royce....

The depot hack is what?  Does that mean it's a rat rod?  Cause I really, really, really, want my next project to be a rat.

This is my '24 Model T Speedster.  It has 3 transmissions...the original planetary, a Warford, and a Ruxtall.  It will keep up with traffic on the freeway....and it's not even at full throttle.

Haha no I'm regurgitating what Packard enthusiasts I've talked to get ALL the time. I know plenty about Packard, I love em. But most people don't so I guess the question is always like so is that a Ford or GM, or maybe Chrysler? I'm sure it gets annoying after awhile "No it's an independent brand" "well wuts that?" LOL
 
Yeah they had some real nice stuff you look at say a late '30s Packard Senior with a v12 or something.....wow. VERY well-constructed vehicles.

Too bad you're so far away...the National Packard Museum is about 25 miles from me, in Warren, OH. You'd love that place. We also have our fair share of nice Packards around these parts, as the Packard brothers were from Warren, OH. We still have Packard (now Delphi) plants here as well as the Lordstown assembly plant (Cobalt/G5). A very strong history for Packards here, obviously, and thankfully they're beautiful cars to boot. I never get tired of looking at them.
