Smog Port question

The portion of the head I am referring to is where the tube that runs from head to head to the smog pump bolts up. Hopefully you are still with me:D

Basically, I want to know where the port connects to. Where does it run to on the head, I see no sign of a hole in the exhaust port where it would connect, is there one and I have to pull a valve to see it?

Did you plug yours? If so, how did you go about it?

If no-one knows for sure hopefully this helps, if the head is of the car its easer but on the car should work take a air nose and though air in it and see were it comes out regardless it wont help much other than informational my advice is to just plug the holes there was a guy on corral.net in classifieds that sold a kit for the back of the head.

Informational for you gt40 and gt40p heads off 96+ SUVs don’t have those smog holes on the back of the head just EGR the Ps are a little trouble w/ headers though.

Removing all of the smog stuff?  6 holes, 3 on each head.  Can't remember the sizes off the top of my head.  If you have an assortment of copper inserts laying around you could try a few.

the tubing that comes out the back of each head can simply be unbolted and left in place.

To plug , i noticed on my 351w that the exhaust hole was actually threaded.  I installed a bolt in each port on the heads (one port per head) and i am pretty sure they were 1/2'' bolts.

Im not sure if the the exhaust hole on the 302 is threaded or not but thats something ill find out one day.

They are threaded.  I wanna say it's 1/4", but I'm not certain.

naw,, thats too small.  maybe the bolts that hold the tubing on the heads are 1/4'' but definatly not the actual exhaust port.

Not the bolt head, but the threaded opening itself....I thought THAT was 1/4".

Take the tube off the heads. The cut the tube off close to the blocks. Flip the blocks around  (were the hole is out). Put the flat side against the head. i use high temp silicone to seal it. THis way you can use waht you have to block the holes off.

The ports are threaded but they are pipe thread. They make a insert to go in the hole that has a std thread in it for mounting the
frt assories.

I believe it is 5/16"...

A shorter bolt and a thick washer or two... Problem solved...

Ahh, I had heard this, I MIGHT do this, or just use the block and cut off the tube.

What size are our E6 spark plugs?
