Our new family hauler

Much to Carmen's chagrin, Ange and I went out and bought an '03 Saturn Vue AWD VTi CVT yesterday. It's fully loaded, other than the V6, and only has 82,000 klicks on it. It runs a 2.2 Ecotec, so I'm pretty happy about that. They're known for being very stout motors, and can be found in just about any compact/midsize vehicle made by GM in the last five years.

It is night and day, compared to the GC. And that's a good thing. We're still trying to get all the invoices together, but I believe in the year and a half that we've owned the Jeep, it has been payed for three times over in repairs. Factor in fuel savings and comprehensive insurance, and there might be a $50 difference a month.

It's quite comfortable, rides well, and the adaptive electric power steering works flawlessly. There's no effort at low speeds, and at highway speeds the power steering is essentially off, and gives decent weighty feel. Airbags everywhere.

Oh, and no rust or dents! That means a lot to your average Nova Scotian. :D

Nice! I would have gotten an ex-cop car though :hick:

Seriously though, the ECOTEC is a great motor and the Vue has held up surprisingly well (my neighbor across the street has one). I think you'll be happy ;)

Yeah, it was a real toss up between the Vue and a beat to death Crown Vic. :shakeass:

Thanks man. I hope I end up with the good VT1. :p

I paid less :hick:

You'll get better mileage though. The neighbors love theirs.

Because I can tell you're all so darned interested, :hick: here are some actual pictures of the car.

And something to keep me slightly on topic. Words can't describe how wrong this feels.
