Yeah. Yesterday was frigid. At around noon it was supposedly only -1, but had a -9 WC. It felt like -20. Gah!

Isn't that awesome? :D

We haven't had any cold like that, but we had typical Indiana yesterday.  It started out warm (50*F) and then started raining.  Rained all day (poured) and then last night it dropped into the 20's ...and froze everything solid.

Saturday night, the weather was below freezing in the morning when I woke up, warmed up slowly all day, that night when I went to bed it was almost 60...glad I remembered to load the wood stove up, cause the next morning (Sunday) I got up and it was in the high 20's, and stayed right around that.
Last night was pretty cool out..13.
Was a weird feeling, my feet were cold, even with socks and my old ratty running shoes that I only wear in the house. Also, this house has a full basp00get, but the floor even felt cold.
Seems like the older I get, the more I feel the cold.
I can tolerate it alright until my feet get cold...then it starts to suck.

Almost as bad as the cold itself....

Everything, save for pine trees, is BROWN. I hate it. In the nice months everything is so full of color and life it really is a sight to behold. Honestly the first thing I think of going outside in the winter is the few post-nuclear-holocaust movies I've seen. That's what it reminds me of. Chernobyl or something like that, everything's just been killed off for good. Add a nice overcast day and it's enough to make you lock yourself in the basp00get and cover the small windows so you don't see outside!!!

It's 28* today. Balmy for Dec in Chicago. Tomorrow we have a heat wave: it's going to be 34*:hick: . Saturday it started to snow in the early afternoon, then after we got an inch or so it turned to sleet, then freezing rain. I was driving in the freezing rain to my pick up my girlfriend and by the time I got there the 95 was literaly covered in a 1/4" sheet of ice. Everything but the lights and windows was covered. It drove surprisingly well too. It didn't slip much thanks to the 4R70W trans ability to start in 2nd gear from a stop (something an AOD can't do). It made me sad though because I know that worse is yet to come, and I hate snow. Bring on the torential March rains to wash the salt away and remind me that summer is right around the corner........

We're expecting 6-12" of snow tonight, and another storm on Thursday. Yeah, this winter's off to a good start. I guess on the bright side it'll be the first time since the mid 90's that I got to ride the snowmobiles before Christmas...

My 2 1/2 yo daughter was 'helping' me take some wood in tonight, and when I picked her up to bring her in, she yelled over my shoulder, "Look! The T-bird is tovered!" She's more upset about it than I am. ;)

It just started dusting when I got home from work here. I think we're going to get more freezing rain than snow out here. Either way, the roads should be a mess tomorrow morning.
