Yay! Another eventful weekend.

Well, Friday was very tame. I ran some errands after work, and stayed home. Was a very boring night, but I needed to just relax.

Saturday was a whole different story. I spent the morning running some other errands, doing laundry, cleaning up, and rocking out to some music. I hope in the TC and go to pick my girlfriend up from college. Thats where the fun began.

As of recently, the car has been acting like it had a bad HLA(lifter for you V8 boys), and been tapping under sustained RPMs. I changed the oil, and no change. I figured for my holiday weekend, Id throw my ranger roller cam in it and call it done.

Well, I was on my way to Towson University, which is only about 30 miles away. I get up 695, and the tapping got really bad. I come up to Charles Street, which isn't far from my destination, and it started knocking. I'm very angry at this time. It starts running a little rough and hot, so I eyeball the gauges. I put the car in neutral and coast down hill up to a light. I see my oil pressure gauge drop, and it started knocking its ass off. I drop it into 1st gear, blow through the red light, and keep the RPMs up. I got some oil pressure as the RPMs came up, so I was running the piss out of the car. I finally get to the dorm, and it sounded like I left the oil out of the engine.

I shut if off, went and got my girlfriend with the help of some random dude who signed me in. We come back out, and it really didn't want to run. I got it to the parking lot and made some phone calls. Luckily, I had a friend with a tow truck, so he towed it back home for me.

Looks like Ill be swapping the ranger roller cam after all...with the 2.3L still attached to it.
It's Gumby's fault.

Yay! Another eventful weekend.

She lives by the res tower, in one of the two smaller dorms. In Ward.

Souping it up? Hardly. I'm tired of this BS. Its going to stay mostly stock and I'm going to put full effort into the red bird. I might as well have just bought a shell, because thats all this car has been. Transmission is out of the gray car, now the engine will be. What a waste of time.

That's how I'm starting to feel about the turbo 2.3.

The cars are an absolute blast when they're running right. My gray one had to have been the most fun car I've driven.

Once I can take my time on this car, my feelings will change. Right now, it has been nothing but problems.

You get that no matter if it's a 2.3, 3.8 or 5.0. It's a fact of life with cars. This is why I gave up and bought a new car. So far, going it debt was well worth it as I've had no trouble in almost 3 years (knock on wood).

sounds like a bad situation there shawn.  I'm in the mist of two TC's looking at me now and wondering if im in the mood to learn the the configurations and all the little things just to later find out its not worth it.

Dono man,, maybe the 5.0 is better all the way around.  The 3.8 seems more reliable than the 2.3, even the cfi ones.

Yay! Another eventful weekend.

2.3L's aren't unreliable. My 2.3L's are unreliable.

If you could have had a chance to have driven my gray car in its prime, you'd be all over those TCs.

Idk mine is running sucky lately and no one can figure out whats wrong with it and its the 2.3t engine and it only has 26,000 original miles...but i know how you feel bc it seems like you spend more time fixing it than driving it
