none of my gauges work all of a sudden

So I been bustin my hump getting my old bird going on the road again and it`s almost time to take it for a test drive and none of my gauges are working at all. they worked last time it ran. wtf? I dont wanna let it warm up incase the thermostat decided to get stuck and I wont beable to watch the temp gauge if it dont work. Just dont wanna crack my heads again. that was a major drag.

There's a grey/yellow "resistor" wire from the ignition switch to the cluster that powers the IVR (Instrument Voltage Regulator) attached to the back of the cluster. The same ignition terminal supplies power to fuses 5, 9 and 17.

Umm, could it be the IVR is shot?  Mine went the opposite direction, partial failure before replacing the cluster.  I chased high temperature problems for a long time as well as ran outta fuel a couple times because the IVR output was too high.

Somewhere, perhaps CoolCats, I've seen a pretty decent mod to use an external regulator (7805?) for the IVR.
