3.8 CFI to 5.0 CFI "HO" Reply #15 – October 19, 2007, 09:33:32 PM Was doing a little more thinking on this I have some questions. Would the v6 fuel pump work ok with this motor and how well do you think the v6 trans would hold up? Quote Selected
3.8 CFI to 5.0 CFI "HO" Reply #16 – October 21, 2007, 07:29:23 PM The V6 fuel pump should be enough for a stock CFI 5.0. The V6 trans will work for a little while if you're easy on it. It isn't as strong as a 5.0 AOD. Quote Selected
3.8 CFI to 5.0 CFI "HO" Reply #17 – October 21, 2007, 07:39:51 PM Has anyone actually tried running a 5.0 HO CFI engine with a 3.8L CFI EEC? The injectors are over 40% bigger. The computer is not going to be able to adjust to that. Quote Selected
3.8 CFI to 5.0 CFI "HO" Reply #18 – October 22, 2007, 01:53:25 AM I have done the opposite ,, 5.0 eec on a 3.8 but it was not an ho eec.im sure he can get it up and running with either a v8 or v6 eec with no real noticable issues unless codes start telling otherwise.never had my hands on an ho CFI EEC so i would not know what it acutally feels like to have an HO EEC infront of an HO EEC.
