Can't believe I forgot about this... Happy birthday...

...To my car :D I was in the garage taping it up, getting ready for paint (the air is still too ed wet to paint - you actually get your hand wet touching the car because it's "sweating", but it's supposed to improve for Tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday) and I noticed the 10/87 build date. My baby is all grown up, 20 years old and getting a makeover for its birthday...

I also noticed, when taping up the passenger side, that the tire placard is in french. Not bi-lingual as we Canadians are used to seeing, but 100% french. It shows tire pressures for "XR7", "Coupe Turbo" and "Tout"

This is a big year for us II Gen Aero guys, as half our cars become classics. Well, in Nova Scotia anyway. I'm not sure what the definition is all over NA.

And happy birthday, whitey. Enjoy your plastic surgery.

Mine also turned 20 this month (10/87 build date).  It promtly celebrated by leaking coolant from the same gasket I replaced last month.  Time for a "heart" transplant!

Mine turned 20 this month too. It's celebrating by patiently sitting in the driveway until January when it gets historic plates. :D

Oldraven - It's 30 years in Nova Scotia. I checked, wanting to put classic plates on (MUCH cheaper plates and insurance, plus safety-inspection exemption)...

For ohioans i would avoid the historic plates, if i remember correctly you have to have your mileage checked every year when you get your tags and your only alloted 3000 miles.

That wouldn't be hard for me - my car hasn't seen 3000 miles in two years. With a daily driver (first the Volvo, then the Lincoln, now the Saturn) I don't have any need to rack the miles up. The safety sticker expired last October - it has 105k km on it, so that's as of Oct '05. Now it's got 106k km. Granted the car hasn't been driven at all in the last year...

30? I originally thought it was 25 classic, 50 Antique, but someone corrected me recently and I never thought to look it up. Another decade, eh? That's a hell of a commitment. I've only been with my wife for seven, and trade-ins already look hard to resist. (j/k)
