I realized something today too.
...that if something were to happen to my TC and I had to look for a new car, I have no idea what I would look for, besides another TC. Lets see, I would want RWD, probably a 2-door. If its a 4 or 6 cyl, I would definitely want it to be boosted. Im a ford guy as well, so that basically leaves me with... TC's, Svo's, and Merkurs for the 4bangers. Supercoupes for 6 bangers, and Mark Vii's and Viii's for V8 cars, as well as V8 MN12's. I dont really care much for mustangs, unless is a Notch, and then I would want to 2.3t it. Everyones got a 5.0 mustang, and I like to have something a little different. I loved my moms 96 lsc. Most of my driving is down a 2-lane highway, and they can get a good 28-30 mpg on the highway.
I met a guy named Pete at one of the local cruise-in's last night with an 87 TC with an 85 header panel on it. It actually looked okay, the body lines all lined up. The bumper cover just sagged very slightly, but otherwise it wasnt bad. It was worked over pretty good. Head work, t3/t4 hybrid, supercoupe front mount, maf converted, 3 inch exhaust with a *homemade* er (the car sounded GOOD too), among other things. He said he had it dynoed while it was still VAM and it put out something like 297hp and something tq. Well anyway, he made a very good point when he told me that once you go turbo you never go back. And its true. For daily driving you just cant beat a turbo 4. Its got the power of a V8 and the economy of a 4 banger.
I guess Im kind of just rambling here, but all I know is I love my TC and hope I never have to replace it.
