Painting motor parts Reply #16 – September 12, 2007, 08:15:37 AM Well..... I got bored and sourced alot of the brackets on the car. I only really have one anymore so I found another alternater bracket, water pump, timing cover and aircleaner. All done in a matt silver/allumnium color. I don't think it looks bad. Painting the underhood matt black is soon on my to-do list to really show it off. Also got an idea on the valve covers I'm going to try. More py camara phone pics to follow soon Edit:Here are the pics. I also painted my set of headlight covers flat black as they should be, then threw my spair set on. Not sure which I like now though;) And the brackets And a spair water pump for the hell of it Quote Selected
Painting motor parts Reply #17 – September 12, 2007, 09:22:58 AM should have taped up the chrome accent around the headlight buckets. Quote Selected
Painting motor parts Reply #18 – September 12, 2007, 09:38:25 AM Which ones. The black ones were a form of black from the day I got the car. Looked like rattle can even then. Whats on it now ( spair silver set) is as I got it. They got some wicked fade on them. I can repaint them I just have to match the color. Doin the black paint now ( valve covers) and taping up underhood Edit:This is the earilest pic I can find. They were a gloss black even before I re-painted them Quote Selected
Painting motor parts Reply #19 – September 12, 2007, 10:23:10 AM If you have all the oil leaks fixed, get two cans of Easy-Off oven cleaner, run the engine until it's at normal temp, shut it off and spray the entire engine with the Easy-off. Let it set for at least four hours and pressure spray it clean. It will all but sparkle. Quote Selected
