Intake manifold fun

So since fall is comming I'm starting to serriously think about winter projects for the Bird. The main thing to get done this winter is hopefully an intake swap as the stock one, well, sucks:hick: . I'm wondering what would actually be the best intake for my set up. The car is 99% a street car and I really like low end torque. The stock intake handles that quite well, but sucks above 4,400 rpms. The motor specs are as follows (incase you don't know;) ):

bored .030, over (306ci), decked with flat tops (they have valve reliefs)

GT40P heads with cleaned up exhaust and intake ports, all chambers are 60cc.

Motor has about a 10:1 compression ratio

Cam is a SD compatable Comp Cams Magnum 266HR cam with specs: durration @ .050 210*I/215*E with a lift of .533 I/.533 E operating range of 1,200-5,200 rpms

Ford Racing 1.6 roller rockers

Ford Racing stainless steel GT40P shorty headers dumping into a catless 2.5" H pipe and 2.5" exhaust.

rear gear is a 3.73 Traction-Lok.

Some of the intake options I have considered so far are the GT40 family (tubular GT40, Cobra, Explorer pretty much make the same power), Edelbrock Performer 5.0, Edelbrock Performer RPM II 5.0, and the Trickflow Street Heat. I will also be running a 65mm TB with the intakes in question as the engine really doesn't need anything bigger than that. I just wondering which one of the intakes is best suited to make the most of the rest of my combo. Since some of you guys have had experience with some of these intakes I'd like to get you opinion on them. Thanks again guys.

I remember the thread about the GT40 intakes.:D  I'm just wondering of spending the extra $200or so on something like the Trickflow Street Heat is going to actually be worth it or not that's all.

Actually I should clarify what I'm asking: will the good old ass-o-meter actually notice the difference between a GT40 and a Edelbrock or Trickflow :hick:

Problem is I think most of you guys use the GT40 style intakes. I know Paul has a Trickflow intake but he also has the heads and cam:evilgrin: .

On your combo with a full exhaust system(even 2 1/2"), I doubt you'd tell much difference in any of the street type intakes... My car runs the same numbers on a GT40 upper as it does on the Cobra...

I'd go with the Cobra if you dont mind it being made in China. Otherwise the Edelbrock performer or TFS street are good choices (and higher quality). I think the RPM II might not be as good down low as the other 3 intakes.

I have a Cobra with a ported lower and it kills the ported HO intake I had on the car previously. Unfortunately I cant give a comparison with the other "street" intakes because I've never ran them.
