Compressor clutch cycling pressure switch? September 18, 2007, 09:15:36 AM Hello! The A/C compressor clutch in my T-bird sometimes engages and disengages normally and than the air is cold. But sometimes it engages for a 2 seconds, disengages, another 2 seconds and engages again so on, so on. Than it works normal again.Do you think it may be that pressure switch? A/C system is fully charged with R-12.Thanks for any ideas! Quote Selected

Compressor clutch cycling pressure switch? Reply #4 – September 18, 2007, 09:20:26 PM yep, jumper the connector with a wire and run only for a very short time like that. see if it provides cold air with the plug jumper in.Follow up and observe your AC connections where the quick connectors are that requires that special tool to spread the spring out so you can get new orings in. IE- like up near the radiator. If there is a film of grease collection near the fittings, then it leaks. Grease likes to gravitate to freon. Quote Selected

Compressor clutch cycling pressure switch? Reply #6 – September 19, 2007, 08:43:03 PM could be a weak clutch coil. my 92 GM did this. you would have to push the clutch to get it to engage sometimes. replaced it and ice cold a/c all the time. Quote Selected
