Head Gaskets

I remember reading that during WWII aircraft mechanics would paint head gaskets with aluminum paint and reuse them. This was when they couldn't get parts and they had to keep 'em flying.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this or tried it.

I'd just get new head gaskest. Cheaper than a warped head:hick:

Pure copper gaskets are available that are reusable... The racers that open up a engine fairly regularly use them...

Either that or you could get the block and head/s O-ringed. Then you might break other parts before the head gasket.
