Wheel Offset?

I'm looking to get some new rims.
I've found the bolt senter 41/4" but another key factor is the offset.
I can't find out what the factory offset was?

There are only two tools you will ever need:
1) WD40
2) Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

how wide of a wheel you want?

on a 8" wheel a 5.5 back space works well and will allow a 275/60/15 with no rub

a 9" will stick out on the front.

on the rear you can get away with a 9 w/ a 6.0  backspace
I had a 17x10.5 on the rear of mine and used the s95 offset wheels.

I have 96 mustang length rear axles and brake setup on the back of my drag 88TC. I'm thinking a 9" rim with 6" of backspace would be great but I can't seem to find weld prostars in that size. Closest I found was 5.5" backspace:dunno:

I'm looking for the original backspace value from Ford.
I have to dospoogeent this if I change rims or it won't go through inspection.
I also have to keep the tire cirspoogefrence within 5% of original.
215 70R14 can go to 225 60R15 or  245 50R16
I have an Excel speadsheet to calculate this if anyone needs it.

Did you finaly get the answer to your q. BobNorway and did you get your car through inspection?
What wheels did you end up with?
I might be able to help if you still are in progress.
