did some fixin on the car today.

i started the day fixing a couple random oil leaks.  first i addressed the oil feed line.  when i bought the car, i already had an e6 and t3 swap with a oil feed hard line delete.  when he put the steel braided line on, he didn't tighten it up all the way... on either end.  the fitting was loose on the sender side and on the turbo center section side.  with that out of the way, i tightened the cam cover... AGAIN.  it was loose when i was looking at the car in ohio, so i tightened it then, and it was loose today too.  i took it off, cleaned the bolt holes and the bolts and put a dab of lock tight on the bolts.  we'll see. 

next on the docket was to see why my oil pressure gauge was reading zero.  i started at the source... the sending unit.  it was all busted up.  the bolt was tight, but the unit itself was loose on the pedestal.  i couldn't get it to come off, and i knew i wasn't ever going to use it again, so i broke it off.  i installed the mechanical autometer gauge that was in my truck... and also the boost gauge too. 

i then installed the gauges into the autometer pillar pod that i picked up from work last week.  it was a pretty  good fit and i'm happy with the way i turned out.

i had some billet aluminum short shifter handle laying around for a looooooong time.  i went ahead and installed that too. 

when i was all done, i checked the timing.  honestly, i'm suprised that it ran at all.  i set it to 13* advanced.  i also went ahead and bumped up the boost as well... 17psi.  she's now running like i think a stock 87 turbocoupe should run.

when i was all done, i changed the oil on my wifes car.  i've been a productive boy today.:D











and i ordered a speedo gear from racer walsh to compensate for the 3.73 gears.

:headbang: Looks good bro... by the way... i saw in another thread you were talking about new bearings...  i put new cam bearings in if thats what you're talking about.

nice work. you gonna take it out "stock" to get a baseline on it before you start moddin it?

whats the plan for it?

sure am.  i'll probably not go out this week... it's just too  hot.

actually, by the time i get it to the track, i'll probably already have a good bit of mods.

i'm not looking to go crazy with this one, that's what the ranger is for.  i'm thinking a good goal is 250 at the wheels.  it ought to make for a quick daily.
