Also a question about rear shocks, can you use mustang rear shocks? Or is there a differance that prevents you from using them.

This has been discussed ad nausium.  No, you cannot use Mustang shocks on a TBird.  The TBird shocks are 3" longer than a Mustang ones extended.  Even lowered you cannot get them to work...at least not properly.

Well i guess that means no adjustible rears, I think KYB may still make there Gas-a-just shocks for the rear, I think those are a step under the adjustible ones.

Thanks again Chuck!

Did you not even take the time to read or search over any of the site?

It's not like this has NEVER been discussed before.....

somebody needs to make a bracket to use Mustang rear shocks on our cars. if i could weld i'd at least attempt it for myself. seems like the aftermarket decided to turn it's back on these cars. *sigh*

as for suspension mods start here

Wait a minute! If you have a T-Bird with Quad shocks uyou can use Mustang GT shocks as replacements. Did I read it right.

But then again what would I need 4 adjustable rear shocks for?

Cool idea, sound exspensive.

Do you know how the compressed lengths of the Tbird/Mustang shock compare?
I've read of people using Mustang coilovers/shocks but either relocating the upper or lower mount to keep things kosher. I wouldn't want to lose ~3 inches of suspension travel though. (Assuming the compressed length is the same)

88 TC shocks 13-7/8" compressed x 23-1/2" extended. 89 5.0 shocks 12-3/8" x 20-1/2"

I bought KYB struts for my stock 88 T-bird.  These struts were the correct part number for my year bird.  They have never really felt right.  The fact they were shorter than the orginal units never set well with me either.

Do you (or anybody else) still have the OEM strut? Can you get measurements of the body length, compressed length, and extended length?
