5.0 Mass Air conversion on 2.3 turbo?

Merks use the same VAM as every other 2.3T.....

Not sure about the Probes...but the engine is smaller...so the air meter is not going to be any use regardless.

I know the Tempo 2.3L came with mass air. Not sure if that helps any as there weren't any turbo tempos that I know of.

You're not just going to find one and bolt it on and have it work.  Like I told you already the outputs are different and you have to have someway to covert them.
Either one of the py piggyback coverters that were offered and never worked right to begin with or some sort of tuner (EEC Tuner, Tweeker) that would allow you to alter the code in the ECU.

so is it just not posible to upgrade my maf?

You have a VAM (volume) not a MAF (mass). While they might serve the same function they measure air in different ways. Start thinking square hole, round peg and the sawzall is the tuner. You need to sawzall that computer! :D

Yeah, its gotta be turbo. thanks though

That doesn't matter. YOUR computer won't know the difference. You need a tuner of some sort. Unless you find a 2.3T w/ MAF then take the MAF and the CPU and everything else because it doesn't exist. Well, at least not in stock form. Actually there was a guy selling a MAF setup. Check the classified forums.

And whoever told you a turbo MAF would work on a stock computer is wrong!

What he said. Again. No tuner, no workie.

As for other upgrades, I would go with a T-3 if you don't have one already. Actually what mods do you have?

it stock right now turbo and all. I baught a 5.0 maf (but had no idea it would be so much trouble, probably more than its worth), 46lb injectors (need to get mega squirt or something similar), a 5.0 throttle body and the adapting equipment (just need to port match my intake.

If you're looking at MegaSquirt..then you need to read more.  if you had you'd of realized that you don't need the MAF sensor.... ;)

You could also use one of the aforementioned tuners to tune for the larger than stock injectors if you HAVE to have the MAF.

It makes NO difference.  NO 2.3T ECU was ever available with mass air, so it would have no idea what to do with the signal.

I can understand that aspect, but would it be a worthwhile endeavor to use the 2 plug head/ECU/harness end other necessities and put a T04 on it?  Just curious....

Again, not worth it or even really feasible without some sort of tuning capacity.
