1987 Model Specs?

Does anyone know what the original estimated MPG for an 87 5.0 TB and what is the listed fuel capacity? Fuel tank sending unit is FUBAR!

Thanks!:D

Its supposed to be 22 gallons I think, but from empty to full on the gauge, at the pump I usually get in 15-16. They WERE rated at like 18/27 but the new ratings drop them to 16/24mpg. User economy ranges from 14-24 city to 22-30+ highway so there's no sure way of knowing unless you calculate it on your own - odometer reading divided by gallons at pump.

..And of course, always keep a full 2-gal gas can in the trunk :hick: Been there, done that (my first car had a non-functioning gas gauge)

Thanks for the input... I already ran out of gas once. Luckily I got hold of my son and he brought me gas. I have never seen a sending unit do what this one does... appears to work, level decreases but it was showing just under a 1/4 tank when I ran out. I usually dont go below the 1/4 mark but I did that day! BTW 2 gallon gas can is now in the trunk!:D
