Damm Dimmer Switch.

It happened to me for the 2nd time. Tonight I went into Branson to meet the wife and Kids for a Eagles Concert. "The wifes work is connected to the Grand Palace Theater so we got FREE TIckets. Had a grat time but on the way home my low beams went out. Damm Had to drive 13miles home through B-town traffic with the highbeams on like a damm tourist.  When I first got in the car and turned on the lights the headlights flickered once. So I fliped the Dimmer from low to high and then back to low. All seemed well, but about 4 blocks later the lowbeams were gone. I did feel a weird click when I fliped the dimmer before. So I flipped the dimmer again and still highs but no lows. I'm Thinking that the dimmer ed out again.Damm it. That is a Borg Warner select part. I guess I need to do a headlight wiring upgrade complete with relays and Real 10Ga wire not the py stock stuff. Also the spare 10ga is that I have for it is that Car Stereo multi multi stranded stinger power wire.  Is that over kill?  I'm guessing that it is recomended that I use 1 relay per headlight filiment? I guess I should add a relay to the Fog's at the same time. Anyone have any pointers on how to do this. I also might do that corner light mod. I have an 84 with the 194 corner bulbs so it sounds easy.

I test installed a relay for my lows and I can "feel" the difference in the switch. The lights seem to come on quicker too. I plan on installing one relay for lows and one for highs, although Thunder Chicken made a good point in his thread. Your only using one set of lights at a time so one relay for both lows and highs should be ok. I also plan on adding a relay for the fogs. I'd like to find a little relay box like Carm has. I like the factory look.

I am basing my setup off the write-up over on NATO.

I did get the dimmer replaced but got side track into my auto headlights so I haven't addeed the relays yet, That sounds good as long as you don't own a four eyed bird. I have a 4eyed bird and when the high beams are on I have 4 lights not 2.So I think I should add 4 relays just to make sure everything stays nice and cool.  With the lows I still have the fogs but not with the highs. That is factory. But yes I plan on installing the realys just need the time. I've been very busy lately.
