4 to 5 lug adapters June 10, 2007, 06:30:39 PM In our small town we brought back the local car show, finally! A local drag racer is selling 4 to 5 lug adapters for a variety of cars, I have the flyer, and 83-88 Cougars and Tbirds were listed on there(amazing I know). Flyers on his car trailer said they are CNC 6061 Billet Aluminum with studs already placed in them. 1.75"(44mm) in thickness. $130 for all four. Mikey has my 5 lug stuff, but what is your opinion on this. Would this be worth it if they worked? It amazed me that he listed our cars specifically on there. Quote Selected

4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #2 – June 10, 2007, 07:05:59 PM 5lug swaps are TOO EASY on this platform to risk damage/injury using spacers.they have their place, and they do work, as long as the quality is in the production. but not here. Quote Selected
4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #3 – June 10, 2007, 07:07:01 PM IMHO, they're not safe, and you could convert to 5 lug for about that much. Quote Selected
5 Lug Reply #4 – June 10, 2007, 08:20:24 PM We did the five lug swap on a 1980 Fairmont 2 door and a 1981 Granada GLX easy, cheap and all Ford parts. Quote Selected
4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #5 – June 10, 2007, 08:46:13 PM 1.75" per spacer? Have fun fitting wheels. Quote Selected
4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #6 – June 10, 2007, 09:17:38 PM I have spacers similar to that, but I wouldn't convert to five-lug that way. Especially without knowing who the manufacturer is. And one-inch is in fender-rolling territory for 8-inch wheels in the rear on my 87TC. 1.75 will be outside the fenders unless you run Fox Stang length axles. In the front you are going to need some killer offset, lol. Quote Selected
4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #7 – June 10, 2007, 10:45:43 PM WAY to thick. If it was more like 1" though I might be in. Personay it's eaiser to do the 5 lug swap Quote Selected
4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #8 – June 10, 2007, 10:47:51 PM Just swap to 5 lug with Ford parts from the boneyard. No worries, and, you can keep regular wheels without having to order wheels with an odd offset. Quote Selected
4 to 5 lug adapters Reply #9 – June 11, 2007, 12:47:36 AM No Im not buying them, Mikey found me stuff for the 5 lug swap. It was just odd to see this. Newer Mustang wheels would fit with that offset. Its a +54 offset with the adapters. Im putting SN95 stuff. Thats awhile after exhaust, which at the point is not looking good. Got headers, lers, and just bought BRAND NEW Stand GT Tails for $10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now for the middle section. Quote Selected
