302 HO cam in 88 SO

Hey guys can I run the mustang stock cam in the 88 5.0 Cougar thanks guys lmk.

87 T-Bird turbo'd and supercharged and if things call for it juiced. :evilgrin:

Only if you switch to a mustang EEC and rewire the plugs to the HO fireing order. (at a minimum)

The power of the cam will be virtually useless without the mustang heads (or aftermarket), bigger tb and maf, and dual exhaust (min 2 1/4) with stock mustang headers.

Would be a good idea to check valve to piston clearance, but many have run the HO cam and E7 heads on a SO short block.. I'd use a good set of aftermarket valve springs, the stock ones are pretty much done by 5300-5500. And you sure wouldn't want a piston tagging a valve due to float.
