The vic would.... 140 MPH Police Intercepter

You show me that 'Vic goin 140, and I'll send you a case of beer!

Sorry, but I gotta call bullshiznit here...No 3500 pound car with the aero of a brick is gonna do 140 mph with a less-than 200 hp engine.
Unless...you have some mods done to it...even then....it'll be a bitch.

Now you're talkin' my language :D

The A9L (most popular 5 speed ECU code from '89-'93) has the on & off limits both set at 127.5 MPH. In other words, there is no speed limiter :D

Good info, thanks.  I think mine is an 87 or 88 computer, though.  Are those the same, or did it change along with MAF?

lol, not saying he doesn't, BUT....a 20-something year old car...more importantly, on tires probably not rated for those speeds....nahhh....it's not important, I'd not race him...by the time he got to that speed, I'd be far enough ahead he'd not be able to catch me..unless we're running for like a mile.
That Caprice has a good ratio in the rear..;)

It has acceleration that I've not ever felt in a big 4 door car...and I've been in a shiznitload of big cars.
Tomorrow evening, when traffic is non-existent...out at the end of my gravel road, there's a nice long straight spot of highway, about 2 miles long, I'll measure off a 1/4 mile, time myself, and post back here. I've got a good stopwatch.
Never thought about doing it till now.
BTW, the same version of this car....the 1994-1996 Impala SS, with the LT1.....would smoke a stock Stang GT of the same year.

That comment should go both ways.

I posted my Smurf blue '86 Chevy C10 on this Ford board, knowing full well I'd get ribbed. Roll wit i', byes.

If you don't want your car looked at and commented on, don't post pictures of it. This is a message board. The entire point of having a 'Post Reply' button is to allow people to offer up their opinions.

For those of you who can't understand that, this is for you. Welcome to planet earth where people have opinions and a tendancy to share them. We're not here to kiss arse.

of the same year, yeah id agree. but an 87-93 fox stick car no. they are only like a high 15 sec car at best im pretty sure. they are dang heavy.

i love cars...its the people that ruin alot of it for me. i love my fords. i love mustangs and fox tbirds the most. i hear a stang with an exhaust scootin by and my ears perk up every time. that doesnt mean i dont love, respect and geek right out over all kinds of cars trucks etc out there. i dont know why but i just cant get excited obout say late 80s early 90s irock weather its the cleanest one out there or a 400hp door slammer. just doesnt do it for me. some cars out there are just repulsive. doesnt mean they arent sweet rides.

i also love these guys that brag about their buddys, brothers, uncles whoevers car like its there own. who cares. thats just retarded. i mean its cool if someone you know has a sweet car or whatever but you get those guys who...well you know, you have all heard it.

You see what I did there? How I overreacted to something that really shouldn't have bothered me at all, then made someone feel like shiznit for speaking their mind?

My entire point is, 'don't take it to heart'. So don't take it to heart, man. ;)

We're men. We're all assholes underneath, it's just a matter of buying a guy a pint after he's just busted your lip and you've just knocked out his tooth.

I own my TC because I love the car. I also love my Truck (even thought it's the one that isn't running right now. How bass-ackwards is that?).

The fact that they have different badging means absolutely nothing to me.

And remember cougar5.0, everyone in that thread loved your car. I didn't post there but I have to agree with them. It's gorgeous and looks like a blast to rip around in. I too hope you repost the pictures. I won't rag on you for the SBC because it's what I have in my pickup, and they're great engines for the most part. Besides, the point has more than been made.

(you guys should see this shiznit I go through on the Tuner board I post on. Every time a noob doesn't like one of my comments he starts talking smack about my 'ragged-ass domestic boat gas-guzling corner roller' as if I will start crying and leave the thread. I'm accepted because I speak my mind, admit when I'm wrong [you wouldn't believe how rare that is], and have a turbo 4-banger. :P )

Now we're talkin :hick: I'd love to have a pint about now. I'm sure I'd be really thirsty after a 42 hour drive too :D

My best friends have always been folks who I've had knock-down drag out brawls with.

:brick: :drink: men :grinno:

I am presently putting together some pics of the old 'Bucket (I looked different 20 years ago - it was also sad to see that my ex was quite attractive back then - thus reminding me why I married her :( ), the "progress" I had made on rebuilding it (rolling chassis w/32 year old 350 that still runs like a charm) and some new pics of the "replacement" 'Bucket that I took which show the red a little better.

Funny, I had forgotten what it was like owning a 'Bucket, but it's all coming back to me now :hick: . Chicks and kids love it. Men come by (this just happened yesterday) and say "why the **** did he remove the mechanical fuel pump" etc., etc... He couldn't stop finding flaws with it. Then I remembered that men are a competitive bunch...

I own my T-bird because of 2 things.

1. V8 RWD

and

2. The profile of the car reminds me of my favorite car.

For those that dont know what it is(which i imagine is the majority because its old and not very popular) it is my 1980 Toyota Celica
