Oh man.... I know it ain't pretty....but I so want another Cougar.... It'll be a while before I can make an offer, like about 2 months, but I will  talk to my husband and see what he says. If it's not gone by then, we'll see.

I haven't been on the board in a long time. The only replies I answered were the ones that e-mailed me. I had quite a few offers on the car, but only two people actually came out to see and drive it. Those were local people that saw my listing when it was on Craigslist. One guy offered me $2600... cash... he had it with him...

But I just couldn't do it!

I'm keeping it and taking my time to finally redo it the way I want it. I'm going to start stripping the interior and replacing everything I can. I'm going to make the interior black and the outside will be Titanium. It's going to be a long project, but I'm in no rush.

My father was the first owner of this Cougar, and his health is failing, so it's become a more emotional type of thing. I just couldn't convince myself to give it up. It's got it's quirks, but it was my father's favorite car of all the cars he's owned, and I think I should keep it in the family for as long as I can.

Thanks! I'm hoping it motivates him enough to work with me on a couple small things with the car. I think having a project together will boost his attitude and outlook.

to me this and the '38 still aren't really my cars. i STILL think of them as "daddy's cars", especially the cougar, since he bought it when i was 12 and well aware of what it was and getting a little interested in cars in general.
