Sequential Lights on a Mark8

I have a question to anyone who knows if I can make the sequential lights on the Cougar package listed. I need to see if I can modify it or create a special harness for my Mark 8 I love the way the lights flash in pattern, almost like a directional arrowstick. If anyone can please help me I would appreciate it. I am here from another site, and there are a few people interested in this idea if it is possible. TY for your help.

what year is your mark and is it an lsc or base model?

if you have a 97-98 lsc i dont think you can have sequentials since those cars have a big neon tail light.

Yeah I guess Year would help huh? And yes later years come with LEDs.... OK So I have a 96 Base Bodel. It has 8 lights in the rear. The farthest left is a brake/running then there is 6 in the trunk, then the far right is the passenger brake/running light. The 6 in the trunk are all runnning lights 3 on each side of the trunk lock.

They werent LED, they had an actual neon lamp as the tail light. Your 96 base model has normal lights so thats not even any concern to get something like this to work. However I have no idea how the sequentials work and how they might be adapted to a M8. I think Thunder Chicken is the one here who sells them, even then it might be a better idea to try a board like http://www.markviii.org

THX for the tip, and I wonder if Thunder Chicken has any input as well?

I'm looking at a wiring diagram for your '96 Lincoln and see no reason it couldn't be done, but you'd have to change four lights and sockets (the two outermost on each side in the "reflector" panel) into dual-element bulbs and sockets. There may or may not be enough room inside the lamp housings for the larger dual element bulbs - my wiring diagrams don't tell me this.

One caveat: Some vehicles with the "lamp out" monitoring system may show a lamp out error if you reconfigure your lights. My '87 Sport didn't, but I've heard from Thunderbird owners who have. The system in your newer, fancier Lincoln might be more sensitive, or it may not notice the difference at all.
