3.8L just a little more? March 09, 2007, 09:40:18 AM I have been trying to find performance chips or module programmers for my 1987 3.8L and there doesn't seem to be anything out there. Just looking for a little bit more performance. I've decided maybe the only way is to fool the computer to get it to give a liitle more fuel in the mix. I wonder if anyone has tried splicing a resistor into the Air Charge Temp Sensor line or the egine temp coolant sensor line. Make the computer think that it is always 20 or 30 degrees colder than it really is you'd think the computer will shoot in just a little bit more fuel? Quote Selected
3.8L just a little more? Reply #1 – March 09, 2007, 09:56:58 AM Waste of time.Do you have a real exhaust on the car?Without getting into it, you're not going to bolt-on, or "fool" any more power out of it. Quote Selected
3.8L just a little more? Reply #2 – March 09, 2007, 10:03:55 AM I've seen V-6 Mustang headers. Those and a nice dual exhaust (free flowing, good lers) will help. One other item that REALLY helps is to remove the 3.8 and install a 5.0 in it's place. Quote Selected

The above would give approx. 15-20 hp vs. the stock ~120 hp. It's not much but it is seat-of-the-pants noticeable. Quote Selected
