Broke a Rim

Well guys I was just out testing the new brakes cause we just installed new calipers and rotors on the Bostonian and breaking them in. Well I was out on some empty streets and my brother went to see how it was stoping so i decided to do a powerbrake burnout  :grinno:. The burn out was awsome there was alot alot of smoke and the car went peeling tire like 30 more feet so my brother was now taking off and i followed him and then went back too see the mark 1 tire peel. Well there was alot of rubber in the street and i was just gonna take off home but some idiots showed up and wanted to show off and did some burnouts coming out of the corners, well on the last corner the car went burning rubber and I could not controll it and did a 180 straight into the curb and I went straight home cause i heard tire air. I checked the front rims and the one that was broken is the passenger side back rim a big chunk is missing and the water resirver went flying and now I need a new turbine and my brother just put this rims on, its his car. :slap: Well Ill just wait till tommorow to tell him what happend.

Translation:  Doing Burnouts in brothers car, Spun, Hit a curb, Broke a rim, and he doesn't know yet. close?
Don't feel too bad about it. It happens. Something similar happend to me. I was making a left when my rear tires lost traction and I ended up sliding into and up on top of a median strip. Busted my left front wheel. Ebay is a wonderful place when nobody around you has any turbine wheels. At least you probably will not have to paint your new one to match the others like I did. :o

Man, hearing these stories of people lossing control of their pretty much stock cougars, while showing off scares me.  You would be down right deadly with that supercharger or turbos.
 :brick:

The only question I got is;  How the hell do you lose control of it that bad?!?! :dunno:  Do you not know how to lift your foot off the gas when it gets too squirelly? :slap: Or is there more power then you can handle. :dunce:  :grinno: J/K :flip:
The only reason I say this is because I have been beating the hell out of my Cougars since I got them (over 6 years), doing huge burnouts, and doughnuts, and I've never lost it to the point of hitting anything while showing off.

I also think I lost control cause of the skinny tires on the turbines and also that street is slippery. Yea the 351w twin turbo will be nice to handle or when we fix some more the 302. Well I told my brother what happend and Im just gonna buy him a new rim thats it not bad.

In my case, I was able to countersteer and get the rear to stop moving around. Although when I did, I then put my foot hard on the brakes which caused them to lock up sending me straight into the median strip. As soon as I felt it start to slide, I took my foot off the gas. When I looked at the road where I made the turn, there was a greasy oily spot which I must have hit. I wasn't showing off or anything. I have driven this car hard from time to time and I have had it sideways before, but it has never come around on me the way it did here.
