Driver's seat with power recline February 21, 2007, 02:22:28 PM I needed to replace my driver's seat to pass inspection and found one from a 88 bird. It has power recline which I must now have but there is no harness in the floor of my 85 cougar. there are only 2 wires in the harness. What would be the best way to splice it into the existing power seat harness to get it to work? Quote Selected
Driver's seat with power recline Reply #1 – February 21, 2007, 03:14:55 PM Hello,When I installed the electric recline seats in My bird in sept/oct 2005, I grabbed the whole lot off a Cougar 87 or 88, dual power seat, and power recline, I picked up My power for the all setup (seats, ect) at the drivers side big black white stripe power wire...If I remember correctly My power recline connect under the each seats in a connector, If You have a power seat, check, You will have a connector unused, two wires, a NEG, and a B+, if You don't have power seats, pull the carpet along the left (drivers side) sill plate, and You found a big wire with two connectors, one is a grouns, and the other is a positive, this is for all power to seats...Check this out...Hope this help,Dom.
