Another wood stove thread...

Didn't want to jack the other thread since I don't actually heat with wood... I just want to add a stove as a supplement even though I live in a usually warm climate. Be nice to have for a couple of months and it's cheaper than replacing the heat pump with geothermal and should pay for itself in a couple of years since I have a ready supply of wood. I've also never been thrilled with the heating capacity of a heat pump. BUT I have a couple of things I can't figure out.

My problems are finding a stove and someone that knows how to install it here in sunny Florida (actually it's Lower Alabama) . I could install it but I'm not sure it wouldn't burn the house down first time I lit it. Where do I find the codes and what would I ask a contractor to verify he really knows what he's doing? Is there a good online source for stoves other than Harbor Freight? All the local hardware stores sell the same make and model stove as HF (Vogelstang) and that's about all I can find. Used market is sparse as you might expect.

Thoughts, suggestions and opinions appreciated...

Why not check out Dulley's website?
Yeah the really good information cost ya but I think its reasonable.
Here's a link:

By the way, I'm not affiliated with Dulley or get anything by recommending him. I corresponded with him a couple of times on energy issues and he was generous enough to point me in the right direction. I will probably buy his master CD set on energy savings sometime, because I want to build my own house someday. He's a place to start anyway. ;)
