Factory 400HP DOHC 4.6?

That article was pointed out as BS the day it came out by multiple sites. The photo is from MM&FF's "Mods for 4v Mods" series when they had a GT motor. The EXACT photo was in the mag. It's all a bunch of dreamed up hype. Mulally mentioned "Special Edition" Mustangs in Chicago and specifically stated that all N/A Stangs are sticking with the 3V program.

Michael, what issue would that be, I have every issue of MM&FF from the early 90's up to last months. I do not recall seing that exact engine in the "Mods for 4VMods" series. I will go thru them and take another look to see if I missed that pic.  Mulally would be stupid if he was to every put a 3v into the GT500s, but then those are 5.4s.
On a lighter note, does Longview still do the "Fantasy Cruise"/car show??

Late 2005, I forget the specific issue (I rip the good stuff out and recycle the rest). MM&FF got a GT crate motor and tested it N/A, hence that intake, and SC, and turbo. Do a google search, just about every Ford site on the planet denounced that article as did most GM sites.

Mulally stated all N/A Stang's were sticking 3V. Of course the GT500 has the 4V heads.

Those are hot. Of course that's a hand-built, performance division, 4V 5.4.

The car they're "trying" to talk about in that article already came out. It's the FR500C with the Shelby bodywork and more. You know, purpose built race car with a dry sump and not for sale to average joe.

They put those Boss 290's in their Falcon's.  They also race those babies in the "Australian V8 Supercars" series. Those are not "Purpose built cars. The rear doors open and when they crash, they crumple pretty  good. They only run against the GM "Holden" in that series. Pretty intense racing!! When/If you watch one of those races, you'll see that they did upgrade the brakes, of course, and that they just installed a pretty hefty cage inside the car. Even the trunk still has the original bracing. I'll look for the magazine that had an article on that Austrlian Falcon with the Boss 290. Nice looking sleeper ride :D

By the way, The FR500C is available to anyone who has the 130K to buy it. You have to sign specific paperwork stating that you will not try to license that car for the road and that it is a "Racing Purpose Only" vehicle.

It's got an australian specific n/a 5.4 and I think 290kw is close to 400hp.

Holy  bring it here and call it a Falcon. I want one :D
