thoughts of killing a bird

here is my delema. I was always a big mustang fan. mostly foxes, and it wasn't untill I met my current bird that I fell in love with there cars. now I am a die hard turcoupe guy. I picked up a twin to my girl, minus a few things. mine is a 5speed leather car with premium sound. and its an 88. the car I got for $300 is (same color as mine) dark gray, auto trans, cloth intior, standerd sound. and is an 87. side by side its hard to tell witch is witch. exept that the 87 has some repairable damage in the rear quarters. I don't have a title for the 87(part of why I got it so cheep) but I do have a bill of sale. the 87 has a cracked head and worn out ihi. I have a fresh head sitting in the driver seat right now. here is my delema. my 88 is in great shape and both being taxas cars neither are rusty at all. both have good paint and both have all the hard to find tc parts. if I had the time the 87 would clean up real nice. but I am alittle short on funds to build two tcs. I still have my 72 mgb, and 72 riviara, to fix up.  but it seems the only people interested in the car want to part it out. there are only two of these cars in my town and I own both. I am having a big problem letting this car go, let alone to someone who is going to strip it out for the drivetrain and feed it to the crusher! but if I sell it o this guy it will be for a profit and ill be able to pull a few more parts off it. should I sell it for $400 or keep ot and hide it untill I can fix it up? I don't know what to do????

If you can't keep it, then save all the same bits for your car. I'd keep it or sell it to another Bird enthusiast. Sounds nice.

:iagree:  With the two posts above...

I parted out some cars 20 years ago, and some ghost of theses haunt Me again, like a Mercury Comet 1974 little damaged, and others Fords, Take the time and keep Your car in a safe area, You will not regret it, and if You sell, sell to anyone like these cars, like the guy's on the board...

I have a '88 bird beside My home, and the car have no title, and need inspection before I have title for, damaged a bit, but fully restorable, I take a pics when I purchased, and If I parting out, I'll regret in a couple of years, but if I keep the car continue to rust, I'll wait until I have the 1986 4 eyes In My basp00get garage before I decide if I part out or keep it...

Too much birds in a closer area don't good for Me...

But If You have a space, keep Your, You'll never regret it...

Best regards, Dom.

ok, how does this sound.
step one, get title for the 87.
step two, straiten out the body.
step three, reasemble the motor and put the intior back together.
step four, take the motorsport fmic off the 88 along with the T3 and put it on the 87
then put a holst, stinger fmic and tube header with a 100shot on the 88. do a 5lug swap on the 87 with some FR500s and make it a nice crusser. and have the 88 as a bad a$$ runner.

I owned two identical Grabber Mavericks, yellow with black.  One was a 200/3 spd, the other had a well done 351C/C6.  I had them sitting in my backyard and some guy kept bugging me to sell.  I finely did and he hacked both of them up for drag cars.  Hell, he could have done that with anything.

Try and find nice Maverick Grabbers today?  It will be the same with TC's in a few years.

I'd say to get your 87 into solid, road worthy condition (after getting the title straightened out, of course), and use it to take the edge off of having your 88 in the garage being worked on.  My dad's 85 Trans Am serves that purpose; the Chevelle has been apart for a year now, but the T/A is able to take the edge off.
