New Y303 Heads December 23, 2006, 05:15:38 PM I'm just gonna post this for all as a reference for the future. Today I installed brand new outta the box Ford Racing Y303 heads w/1.9 intake valves/ 64cc comb. chamb. The stock pushrod length is too long, but all you need are .040" shims under the fulcrums of the rockers and that gives right around .030" preload on the lifters. Specs= 88 5.0, SO motor with HO GT cam. stock pushrod length 6.25". Head gasket thickness .040" compressed ( per the manufacturer). Used Trickflow adjustable pushrod length checker and 6-7 outside mic.s. Hope this helps the next guy. Oh yeah, by the way, the thermactor plugs DO NOT come preinstalled in these heads, nor do they come with so prior to the install BUY NEW ones, they are $3.49 for 2 @ Summit. Quote Selected
New Y303 Heads Reply #1 – December 23, 2006, 05:18:47 PM OOPS,-the complete assemblies have 60cc combustion chambers, 1.84 in. intake/1.46 in. exhaust valves, and work with stock or aftermarket intakes, rockers, and valve covers.--I said 1.9 intakes and 64cc's, sorry.
